Position Description: 

Fungi Life is looking for a detail-oriented Environmental Impact Analyst Intern to help quantify and evaluate the environmental footprint of our biotechnology startup. The intern will be responsible for measuring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to environmental impact, conducting life cycle assessments (LCA), and calculating carbon and water footprints. This role involves managing large datasets and utilizing specialized databases and advanced tools to perform thorough analyses. The intern will work closely with our research team to integrate accurate data into strategic decision-making processes and effectively communicate findings to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct life cycle assessments (LCA) to evaluate the environmental impact of our products and processes.
Measure and analyze key environmental KPIs, including carbon and water footprints.
Manage and interpret large datasets, utilizing advanced tools and specialized databases.
Collaborate with the research team to ensure accurate and up-to-date environmental data is integrated into business strategies.
Prepare reports and presentations to effectively communicate findings to internal teams and external partners.
Support the development of strategies to reduce the environmental impact of our operations

 

Desired Qualifications: 

Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Strong analytical skills with experience in data management and analysis.
Familiarity with life cycle assessment (LCA) methodologies and environmental impact measurement tools.
Proficiency in software tools such as Excel, specialized LCA software, or statistical analysis programs.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
A passion for sustainability and a keen interest in biotechnology and environmental impact analysis.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.

 

Time Commitment: 30 hours/week
