2025 Undergraduate Summer Sales Intern

Church & Dwight Co., Inc. is offering summer 2025 internship opportunities in our Sales department. This 10-week internship program starts on May 28th and runs through August 8th and includes exposure to leadership, professional development, networking events, and the chance to connect with students throughout various functions.

For rising Juniors, this is a multi-year rotational internship planned for Summer 2025 and based on performance a return offer for summer 2026 is considered. 

 

For rising Seniors, this is a single-year internship planned for Summer 2025 in available opportunities including Account Management, Category & Shopper Insights, Customer Strategic Planning, and Sales Analytics & Business Solutions. Students must be open to an assignment in any of these areas:

 

Account Management

You will work alongside a team of full-time sales associates, who manage a group of named accounts, retain and grow existing client relationships, and forge relationships with prospective clients. In this internship you will:

  • Gain understanding of C&D products, processes and systems
  • Gain understanding of department functions and their responsibilities
  • Assist in attaining annual sales, trade-spending, monthly/quarterly forecast and profit goals
  • Assist in analyzing Syndicated and consumption data to help deliver overall goals
  • Gain insight into overall financial management (Siebel, Trade Spend, Deductions, Slotting, SG&A)
  • Jointly Build relationships buyer/director levels in key customers and Advantage Solutions to maximize CHD results
  • Collaborate with internal sales & cross functional departments
  • Gain the ability to influence & impact positive change

 

Sales Strategy & Enablement

You will support the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) team in linking the Brand strategies and plans to the Church and Dwight Field Sales employees. You will support the SSE Managers within the SBU as they work directly with field sales and RGM for an end-to-end plan to manage net sales, trade spending and profitability across all classes of trade within the assigned strategic business unit portfolio of products.  The opportunity exists for the intern to directly own aspects of this link with field sales and RGM if strong performance is exhibited.  In this role you will:

  • Execute strategic trade and brand marketing initiatives across the Category
  • Deliver the annual Customer / Category Planning process, ensuring that all organizational requirements are met from a timing and data integrity standpoint
  • Manage workflow and information between Category, Field Sales, and RGM
  • Coordinate the new product development process
  • Ensuring Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising and Pricing (DSMP) are accurate and deployed
  • Develop deployment materials for the Sales Playbook

 

Revenue Growth Management

You could support 1 of the 3 RGM pillars and help to unlock profitable growth by leveraging the many layers of RGM. You will help to drive revenue optimization and sustainable growth, develop and execute strategic plans that maximize sales and profitability across each brand and channel. You’ll get exposure to and use various different systems to complete data analysis and build scorecards to monitor results and ensure continuous improvement. Your role can span across multiple brands and multiple different customer teams providing exposure to different teams and business strategies. 

 

  • Trade Promo Excellence Pillar
    • Lead the Customer Business Planning process
    • Plan and forecast trade 
    • Run the TFA model and decide on the final
      trade fund allocation
    • Set trade and profit quotas
    • Manage quarterly locks
    • Manage incremental trade requests
    • Track trade reserve
    • Conduct pre- and post-event analysis
    • Identify trade optimization opportunities and set targets
    • Build trade sell-in stories (top accounts)

    • Use TPM system for RGM insights 
    • Model scenarios – price, PPA, trade, promo
    • Support RGM and Sales use of Thor, Sequoya, and other sales systems
    • Track and report RGM results, including trade performance 

 

  • Pricing/Price Pack & Architecture Pillar
    • Conduct pricing-related consumer research, including pricing elasticities, conjoint analysis.
    • Run competitive pricing analysis
    • Recommend cost-based price changes
    • Support pricing for new items and acquisitions 
    • Lead and recommend price optimization according to brand strategies
    • Conduct price-pack reviews and analyses
    • Conduct price-pack architecture testing
    • Conduct price monitoring and reporting
    • Build pricing and PPA sell-in stories (top accounts)

 

Category & Shopper Insights (CSI)

You will have responsibility to develop “Storytelling Insights” leveraging a variety of data tools & systems. These insights will be incorporated into retailer facing presentations that enables our sales teams to recommend fact based, market level strategies to help position the category for growth leverage Church & Dwight brands. The Intern will learn to work closely with our HQ Category & Shopper Insights and Customer Strategic Planning Teams as well as our data vendors (IRI & Numerator) to understand the market dynamics through data, looking at different metrics that are driving the current trends, and developing actionable insights to persuade change in the market.  

In this role you will:

  • Utilize IRI & Numerator data to analyze and develop insights from market sales and shopper data to formulate recommendations for our Retail Sales Teams.
  • Work across Category & Shopper Insights, Customer Strategic Planning, Marketing, and Field Sales to collaborate and align on the actionable insights to execution within the market. 
  • Integrate the actionable insights within the Category Sales Platform work. 
  • Develop training materials and processes to deploy these strategies with the field sales teams for activation.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate students who have completed at least two years of college coursework (rising Junior or rising Senior) while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, sales, information technology, analytics or other relevant degrees are preferred. 
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn how to interface with different platforms, run reports, and engage with various company systems.
  • Ability and interest in working a hybrid schedule in Ewing, NJ
  • Experience in Microsoft 365 applications required; some roles require experience in Power BI, Canva, Figma, TikTok, Instagram, and other relevant platforms.
  • Experience managing multiple timelines and priorities. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required. 
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, desire to learn and contribute to a growing company. 
  • Candidates must have US Work Authorization (US Citizen, permanent resident, green card holder)
