2025 AAPD Summer Internship Program
AAPD’s Internship Program places current students and recent graduates with disabilities in paid internships. Interns build leadership skills, explore career opportunities, and connect with the disability community.
For Summer 2025, AAPD will offer a hybrid internship program with some interns joining remotely from across the country while some interns will be based in Washington D.C. Interns will work full-time for 32 hours a week, for 10 weeks during the summer.
Interns will:
- Build their leadership and advocacy skills in our Disability Advocacy Certificate Program
- Connect one on one with a mentor who has similar professional goals and interests
- Join virtual community events
AAPD provides a competitive living stipend (for 2024 this was $18/hour), accessible housing or a housing stipend, transportation to and from Washington D.C., and technology equipment and supports.
Interns are placed in internships that match their career goals and preferences. Interns work in Congressional offices, federal agencies, nonprofit, and for-profit organizations.
Interested potential applicants can join a virtual information session on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. ET to learn more about the program and the application process and get their questions answered. CART and ASL will be provided. The session will be recorded and available on the AAPD website.
