Laboratory Technician, Plasmid Prep Sun-Thurs 2pm-10:30pm

Location: Waltham, MA

Shift: Sun-Thurs 2pm-1030pm

How You’ll Make an Impact 
The Laboratory Technician I is an entry-level role in our Molecular Biology Team responsible for processing DNA Prep orders for internal and external customers. Laboratory Technician’s will help process DNA Prep orders, perform QC workflows, and package orders for shipment to customers.


What You’ll Do 

  • Restock lab supplies
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds
  • Reaching, lifting, bending
  • Prepare and package orders
  • Follow SOPs accurately and precisely
  • Maintain the cleanliness of work area 
  • Handle chemical reagents and glassware
  • Ability to read small font on sample tubes
  • Receive and sort incoming orders using established workflows
  • Independently operate laboratory equipment including but not limited to pipettes, gel electrophoresis equipment including gel imager, centrifuges, autoclaves, shakers, and spectrophotometers
  • Extended periods of time standing or sitting, operating lab computers and equipment while wearing a lab coat, safety glasses, and gloves
  • Employee will be working in an area with hazardous chemicals
  • Employee may have to use hand tools to adjust settings on instruments as needed

 

What You Will Bring

  • HS Diploma required 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A.S. Degree or B.S degree preferred 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Desire to learn new processes and support a growing team
  • Experience and/or desire to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
  • Previous experience using pipettes, gel electrophoresis equipment including gel imager, centrifuges, autoclaves, shakers, and spectrophotometers preferred.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.)
