Application Development Intern

THE ROLE 

EBM Software is looking to hire an Application Development Intern who want to broaden their experience working on all aspects of software development including, testing, documentation, support, and coding. This position will be primarily focused on tasks that involve improving certain aspects of the team’s ability to deliver quality software into production. In this position you’ll gain a better perspective and valuable experience on how software is built and deployed in the real world. The Application Development Intern will: · 

  • Assist in documentation and product planning and user story sessions 
  • Run manual tests and report on a bi-weekly basis on the status of all production releases 
  • Provide support for internal customer requests or incidents 
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base documentation 
  • Create and maintain a large library of automated integration and unit tests 
  • Participate in ad-hoc project, measuring and documenting key aspects of the software

WHAT IT TAKES 

This role demands a passion for all things software development, an interest in broadening one’s experience and working with new technologies, and strong written and verbal communication. EBM Software is a scaling company in the FinTech space – we care about results and are all eager to jump in and get our hands dirty. Important competencies to effectively perform this role include: 

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet high standards
  • Demonstrated track record of learning technical systems and tasks quickly 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required 
  • Understand basic object-oriented concepts with experience in either Java or C#
  • Basic proficiency with database concepts and working knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledgeable of various SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile (Scrum and Kanban)

WHAT YOUR RESUME SHOWS 

While we’re looking for some specific experiences and skill-sets, nothing is more important than a strong can-do attitude, resilience in the face of change, and a passion for learning and creating. Some of the things you might bring to the role include: 

  • Be enrolled in technology related degree program such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology at an accredited academic institution. Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75, with a 3.0 in the major field of study.
