What you will be doing

The primary duties and responsibilities will be in support of the Health Systems and Government Services Strategic Operations team.  Responsibilities will include working on projects or initiatives focused on operational excellence that improve both our internal and external customers experience. 

The Strategic Operations intern experience will provide you the opportunity to work alongside a team of associates focused on operational excellence initiatives, business solutions optimization, and distribution performance.  The team is responsible for executing on initiatives that support Health Systems and Specialty Services goals. 

Position guidance and management:

This intern will report to the Operational Excellence Manager, who will act as a coach and mentor providing guidance regarding professional development.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Initiative Support - Assist in managing project timelines and deliverables. Maintain documentation and communicate updates to stakeholders within a dynamic matrix organization. Deliver results that align with Cencora guiding principles.
  • Support the advancement of solution selling - Responsible for gathering input and compiling information received from key subject matter experts to recommend and implement process enhancements. 
  • Operational Efficiency Enhancements - Participate in workstreams that focus on operational efficiency improvements identified by business unit stakeholders. Assist in implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Data Analytics – lead efforts to collect, aggregate, analyze and make recommendations for enhancements based on data that result in world class customer experience and align with Cencora guiding principles.
  • Communication liaison customer facing – respond to inquiries that support initiatives including Seasonal Vaccine inquiries and other key programs/initiatives as needed.

What your background should look like 

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled as a full-time junior or senior in an undergraduate program at a four-year institution
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must not require sponsorship to work in the US now or in the future
  • Can commit to the program full-time for the 10-week duration
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Good project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Good analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions
  • Must be eager to learn, self-motivated, flexible, accountable and can effectively handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Knowledge of computers to operative effectively with PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook
