Warehouse Worker, Receiving - Material Distribution Center

OVERVIEW

The Warehouse Worker / Receiving is responsible for managing the receipt of goods and materials into the warehouse. This role involves inspecting incoming shipments, verifying quantities and product specifications, and ensuring that all received items are properly recorded and stored. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have current, or ability to obtain, Arizona driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc) and iVisions with query experience preferred
  • Clerical and data entry experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with district personnel and outside agencies
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with district employees and public
  • Ability to safely lift up to and including 75 -100 pounds

Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role preferred.

Basic understanding of inventory management systems and procedures.

Familiarity with safety standards and procedures in a warehouse setting.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receiving Shipments: Unload and inspect incoming shipments, ensuring that all items match purchase orders and are free of damage.
  • Documentation: Verify and document the quantity and condition of received goods.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure accurate storage of received items in designated warehouse locations. Assist in managing inventory levels and conducting periodic stock checks.
  • Quality Control: Report any discrepancies, damaged goods, or quality issues to the Warehouse Foreman. Follow up on returns or exchanges as needed.
  • Pick and pack outgoing orders, paying attention to accuracy and efficiency.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while handling and storing goods. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other warehouse staff, procurement, and shipping departments to ensure smooth operations and timely processing of orders.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners safely and efficiently.
