Spring 2025 Research and Analysis Intern

This is a DC-based hybrid position. Interns must reside and have a permanent address in the Washington Metropolitan Region for the duration of their internship.

POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Partnership’s Research, Analysis and Evaluation (RAE) team helps federal leaders make the government more effective by studying, analyzing and sharing information about the federal workforce, federal leaders, and the public’s engagement with and trust in government. More specifically, team addresses topics such as government innovation, federal customer experience, and recruiting, hiring and hiring federal employees. The RAE team also oversees the Partnership’s learning, evaluation and data science portfolio.  

RAE interns will have the opportunity to grow qualitative and/or quantitative research skills, working on things like innovative research projects, high-visibility reports and impactful data analysis. Examples include the Best Places to Work in the Federal Government® Rankings and the. Additionally, interns may assist in evaluating the short-and long-term outcomes of the Partnership’s programs.  

Interns’ specific responsibilities will include a combination of research and administrative tasks. Such tasks include literature reviews; scheduling and attending interviews with federal leaders and private sector experts; taking notes; cleaning interview transcriptions; and supporting the planning and execution of public events. Interns may also assist with survey design and qualitative and quantitative data collection.  

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for public service, an interest in social science research and event planning, possess strong writing skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

This job operates in a professional office environment in Washington, DC and occasionally at local external venues. This position requires consistent use of office equipment such as computer, telephone, printer and scanner.  

 

COMPENSATION

Full-time interns will receive $1,500 per month. Part-time intern compensation will be pro-rated accordingly.


 

LOCATION

This is a DC-based hybrid position. Interns must reside and have a permanent address in the Washington Metropolitan Region for the duration of their internship. Per Partnership policy, all full-time employees will be expected to work from the office a minimum of 2x per week. 


 

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK   

Business hours are Monday-Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, though exact work hours may vary depending on availability and need. Academic schedules will be accommodated; a part-time schedule may be considered. There may be occasional early morning or evening activities required.

 

TRAVEL 

If travel occurs, it is usually during the business day.
