Instrument and Electrical Engineering Intern/Co-Op

We are a global chemical company and one of the nation's leading manufacturers of agricultural products. Our Hannibal plant is built to manufacture high-quality products in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner. We occasionally have the need for contingent labor, and that's where you come in. This is a paid, full-time, temporary position. If chosen, you will report to a manager/mentor who will provide you with oversight and details of your assignments.
The scope of assignments for this role will vary, but will likely include: 
Potential projects: 
  • Trending motor power consumption across the site and create charts and reports. 
  • Updating the instrument database. 
  • Work with team on creating a master interlock database.  
The co-op / intern will otherwise be working alongside professional engineers and designers, gaining exposure to common instrumentation and electrical tasks like:  
  • Specifying and sizing instruments, analyzers, valves, and other instrumentation. 
  • Specifying relays, VFDs, low-voltage motors and other electrical equipment. 
  • Performing instrument and electrical design (loop sheets, wiring schematics, cable and raceway sizing, grounding drawings etc.). 
  • Conducting site surveys and equipment evaluations. 
  • Write reports on findings. 
  • Developing and maintaining site instrument and electrical documentation. 
  • Perform instrument and electrical life cycle evaluations. 
  • Interfacing with production unit engineers and other stakeholders. 
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of electrical concepts. Understands electrical infrastructure and digital control concepts. Familiar with process instrumentation and control concepts. Capable of writing short and concise reports, and of keeping documentation organized. Knowledge of programming, CAD software and MS Office (Excel and Visio especially) is a plus.
This job pays an hourly wage (depending on experience) for a 40-hour week, plus an additional housing stipend for each month. This job may last between 3-9 months depending on your availability.
