Organic Chemistry Intern

Join the BASF Global Technology Team as a Summer Intern and embark on an exciting journey of skill enhancement and practical experience in the world of organic chemistry.
 
As a Summer Intern in Organic Chemistry at our Hannibal, Missouri site, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with a team of seven experienced chemists. Your role will involve hands-on experience in the research, development, and synthesis of pesticides. You will interact with a global team to support manufacturing across North America, Asia, and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
·     Collaborate with senior chemists to design and conduct experiments aimed at optimizing pesticide synthesis processes.
·     Assist in the analysis and interpretation of experimental results, contributing to the advancement of pesticide development.
·     Participate in laboratory maintenance, equipment calibration, and safety protocols to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
·     Document research findings, methodologies, and observations accurately for future reference.
·     Contribute fresh ideas and insights to brainstorming sessions and team discussions.
Required/ Preferred Qualifications:
·     Currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field.
·     Strong interest and foundational knowledge in organic chemistry principles.
·     Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous approach to laboratory work.
·     Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
·     Enthusiasm for problem-solving and an eagerness to learn from experienced professionals.
This job pays an hourly wage (depending on experience) for a 40-hour week, plus an additional housing stipend for each month. Located along the banks of the Mississippi River between Hannibal and Palmyra, Missouri, our 1600-acre manufacturing site is home to some of the world’s finest crop protection products.
