We currently have an opportunity for an Account Manager to join our Private Client Personal Lines team in our Rockville, MD office.
The selected individual will be responsible for servicing assigned personal insurance accounts in accordance with the practices, policies, and procedures of the Company.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manages a book of insurance business, including personal lines accounts for affluent clients, while acting with a degree of independent discretion, autonomy, and decision-making.
- Prepares annual review reports and conducts client meetings to review the insurance program and make appropriate recommendations for improvements.
- Works closely with Producers and other HUB personnel on all aspects of client service, marketing, and renewal while adhering to HUB’s best practices and standard procedures.
- Gather information from clients and prepare applications regarding new and/or renewal coverage. Prepare policy quotes based on client’s needs, rates, and coverages.
- Prepare all transactions for assigned accounts, i.e. applications, invoices, forms. Maintain the accuracy of data in the agency management system.
- Acquires understanding of clients’ insurance objectives and critically analyzes and compares insurance plans to determine suitability.
- Acts as liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve service issues. May also negotiate with underwriters and carriers. Troubleshoots claims and billing issues. May handle collections of premiums due.
- Develops new business from existing accounts and assigned leads and contributes to meeting departmental production goals. Identifies and follows-up on cross-selling opportunities when appropriate.
- Conduct business in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of both the business and earnings implications of the Company.
- Keep informed of changes and trends within the industry for the purpose of anticipating and responding to profit objectives.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications:
- Experience servicing personal accounts within an insurance agency.
- Experience servicing large personal lines accounts and affluent clients preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of personal lines coverages and markets.
- Experience and demonstrated proficiency in an insurance Account Management role.
- Excellent oral and written English communications skills.
- Superior customer service and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office and automated agency management systems.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent; AA and/or college degree preferred.
- Experience with an electronic agency management system.
- Active Property & Casualty Insurance license.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
