IT Student Network Engineer (Undergrad)
Job Summary:
The Student Network Engineer will work closely with the IT and networking teams to assist in the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in network engineering while supporting the organization's IT infrastructure.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining network systems, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Support troubleshooting efforts for network-related issues, providing first-line diagnosis and escalating when necessary.
- Help with the installation and configuration of network hardware and software.
- Assist in ensuring network security by following established protocols and procedures.
- Participate in the documentation of network configurations, processes, and system updates.
- Work collaboratively with senior network engineers and IT staff to complete assigned tasks and projects.
- Support the analysis of network performance data and help optimize system performance.
What We Require:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, routing, switching).
- Familiarity with network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls.

What You Should Know:
- Candidate may require a NASA background check.
What We'd Like You to Have:
- Knowledge of networking tools and software (e.g., Wireshark, Cisco IOS, etc.).
- Exposure to network security practices and protocols.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
- 3.00 GPA + preferred.
