The NSLS is the nation's largest collegiate leadership honor society. The NSLS operates chapters as a club at over 800 schools across the US, empowering over two million leaders and counting. Our accredited program equips members with essential skills for success in a competitive job market and provides tools to make a positive impact on the world.
In this paid 26-week internship, the Chapter Leader will establish and promote an NSLS club at their institution. You'll gain hands-on experience in management, communication, goal setting, and event planning, both remotely and on campus. Interns receive group and 1:1 training to foster leadership growth among peers. After launching the club, you'll report to our Chapter Success Team and continue to leverage your skills to advance the NSLS leadership development program.
Responsibilities:
- Register the club as a student organization or secure a department sponsorship
- Recruit a full-time faculty or staff member as a Chapter Advisor
- Identify and recruit an Executive Board of at least four students
- Participate in virtual training retreats and weekly video meetings with Student Program Directors
- Collaborate with administrators and faculty to establish the NSLS chapter
- Create an event calendar and action plan for the launch semester
- Grow chapter membership through outreach initiatives
- Complete assigned tasks within specified timelines.
Qualifications:
- Current student at a U.S. college/university with at least three semesters remaining
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Actively engaged in school and community activities
- Able to dedicate up to 5 hours/week, Monday - Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM ET
- Highly organized self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable presenting and working with teams (experience preferred)
- Access to reliable internet and a webcam for online training and meetings
- Proficient with video conferencing tools and Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Slides)
- Your campus does not have an NSLS chapter/club (view active chapters: nsls.org/chapter-listing)
Perks:

- $15 per hour or state or local minimum wage.
- Whichever is greater, based on your location while actively participating in the internship.
