Core Engineering Intern

Inteva Engineering Interns get the chance to learn about Core Engineering's role in supporting a manufacturing company, gain hands-on experience, and work on meaningful projects that make an impact. The intern in this role will work with the Engineering team out of Inteva's World Headquarters in Troy, MI. 

Inteva’s Summer 2025 Intern Program includes more than your day-to-day work. Your experience will include supplemental learning and development opportunities, such as executive lunch-and-learns and professional workshops. You will support Inteva’s core value of caring for the world and our communities with group volunteering opportunities throughout the summer. Most importantly, you will have fun, learn, and grow as part of a cohort of summer interns.

What will you get to work on?

  • Plans, organizes, leads, and directs technical work related to latch or actuator design project
  • CAD training for NX to achieve required skills necessary to achieve project goals.
  • Define scope and deliverable timeline required to achieve project goals.
  • Define product function, requirements, and design criteria.
  • Initiate DFMEA for at least one product function.
  • Develop concepts and lead peer reviews for project design using Inteva best practices and lessons learned.
  • Manage prototype supply base to order and acquire required product components.
  • Assemble, debug, verify concept function and basic design performance criteria.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Junior or Senior level student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Summer Work Term: May – August
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to calculate and analyze data, generate reports, and present information
  • Advanced CAD skills preferred (Siemens NX or Catia preferred)
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
