Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Project Specialist
This position is part of the Office of State and Community Energy Programs, Department of Energy. As a Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Project Specialist, you will be managing EECBG Program formula grants, including cultivating relationships with assigned grantees and advising them on grant compliance and project development, monitoring grant milestones and funding requirements and making recommendations to keep grant projects and programs on track.
As an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Project Specialist, you will:
- Negotiate with grant recipients on all projects, budgets, and schedules to manage awards in a manner consistent with approved objectives, budgets, and schedules.
- Manage financial assistance awards ensuring compliance with federal financial assistance regulations, policies, and procedures, interpreting and applying federal grant regulations and Department of Energy policies, and actively detecting and mitigating the potential of fraud, waste, and abuse of grant funds.
- Identify and document success stories, best practices, and lessons learned across a variety of clean energy projects.
- Provide technical and project management expertise and assistance to the contracting officer and program officials related to assigned award portfolio and be responsible for anticipating, identifying, and resolving problems that arise in awards.
- Work with stakeholders and key leadership in various Federal agencies, state and local governments, Tribes and Tribal organizations, and non-profit organizations.
