Volunteer Literacy Tutor Internship
Interns will be expected to spend most of their time teaching students. Interns will work with at least two 1:1 tutoring matches or small groups for 6-8 hours per week. In addition, interns can complete a focus area project to be determined by the intern, advisor, and Literacy Pittsburgh Program Coordinator.
Responsibilities include:
- tutoring students from our English as a Second Language (ESL), adult basic education (reading, writing, and math), and/or GED/High School Equivalency programs
- adapting lesson plans to student needs, reporting student progress weekly
- assisting in orienting new students to the program
