Business Intelligence Intern

Where You Come In:  

KCF Technologies is seeking participants in many areas of study to contribute to our high-performing teams as part of the Future Innovators Internship Program. This 10-week, full-time paid program June 2 – August 8 will take place at our KCF Headquarters in-person, or remotely, depending on where home is for you. With our work from home, work from anywhere policy, the choice of where to work is yours.

Our home base is our headquarters in State College, PA, but you will find KCF Teammates spread across 27 different U.S. States with our flexible remote model. We give you the autonomy to define how and where you do your best work!

We are looking for a motivated and data-driven Business Intelligence (BI) Intern to join our team. As a Business Intelligence Intern, you will assist with collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to provide valuable insights that drive business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with data analytics tools, develop your problem-solving skills, and learn how to translate data into actionable strategies.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in gathering, cleaning, and organizing large datasets from various sources for analysis.
  • Support the development of reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, finance, operations, Engineering) to understand data requirements and objectives.
  • Help maintain and optimize data pipelines and reporting infrastructure.
  • Monitor and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business performance.
  • Provide recommendations based on data analysis to help improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth.
  • Assist in automating manual data tasks using SQL, Excel, or Python.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with laser sharp attention to detail.
  • Basic proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, Excel, and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights clearly to executive-level audiences.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take initiative in solving data-related challenges.
  • Demonstrates leadership in field of study, extra-curricular activities or service organizations
  • Willingness to ask questions, take initiative and be resourceful and inventive
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization, customers, and stakeholders as needed
  • Proven ability to deliver creative solutions to complicated problems
