Co-Op, Technical Packaging (6-months, January 2025 Start)

A career in Technical Packaging where none of us stand still.

The North American Technical Packaging team provides technical support for all existing marketed products managed by the North American Quality and Supply Chain organization.

 

Some of the responsibilities of the co-op position include:

  • Identification and execution of Haleon sustainability projects, to meet corporate sustainability goals and initiatives.
     
  • Assisting with cost and solution analysis for new package developments, new material opportunities, and new product introductions.
     
  • Providing solutions for new commercial products by assisting in design and development of new secondary and tertiary packaging.
     
  • Value engineering / cost savings.
     
  • Organizing and evaluation line trials.
     
  • Coordination of package testing lab activities and oversight.

 

Candidates that work in this team can expect to gain experience in:

  • Writing technical packaging component specifications.
     
  • Visiting packaging materials suppliers.
     
  • Assisting in activities with and visiting external contract manufacturers.
     
  • Interacting with cross-functional departments within Haleon Quality and Supply Chain
     
  • Typical packaging systems at Haleon include oral solid dose bottles, liquid bottles, blisters, nasal sprays, aerosols, laminate tubes, and pouches/sachets, among others.

 

What will your individual contribution at Haleon be?

The Technical packaging co-op will assist and/or lead packaging projects under the guidance of a senior engineer. Individuals should expect to be working on multiple projects on any given day and may be required to address and assist with pressing matters that may require additional support. On-the-job experience with formal and informal training can be expected, delivered through a mix of coaching, mentoring and formal training programs.

To enable you to perform in this future talent opportunity:

Education required:

  • Pursuing a degree in Packaging Science or similar discipline
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program
  • Preferred candidates will have completed 2 years or more of class work prior to this co-op and have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0

 

Other requirements:

  • Ability to start in January 2025.
  • Candidate must be eligible to work on a full-time basis (40 hours a week) during the co-op duration (6 months).
  • Position is located in Warren NJ and candidates are expected to be on-site.
  • Candidates must be able to source and provide their own housing and transportation to and from the location.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US at the time of, and for the duration of employment. Employees will be required to furnish evidence of US work authorization.

 

Expected start date: January 2025
