Mechanical Engineering Intern
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Compliance with company, legal, and regulatory requirements for Health, Safety, and Environmental topics in order to foster a culture of Health & Safety.
- Support Engineering Team with project related duties as assigned.
- Assist with applicable equipment design, feasibility studies, preparation of specifications and technical documentation.
- Support of PSM coordination for major equipment and minor component suppliers.
- Support mechanical assembly as required.
- Continual support of project communication with customers, supplies, and company project team members.
- Aid in development of designs for mechanical solutions for equipment of different kinds that provide specified and required functionality and cost effectiveness.
- Review and interpret mechanical specifications.
- Regular attendance at the assigned job site(s).
Education and/or Experience
- Undergraduate or Graduate student attending an accredited college with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Ability to utilize personal computer equipped with business system, database, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience with AutoCAD 2D software is a plus
- Strong proficiency with at least one 3D software, ie.; Inventor 3D (preferred), SolidWorks, or NX is a must.
- Detail oriented, action oriented, and a collaborative team player.
- Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency.
- Demonstrates a high degree of adaptability.
