LEAP Program Associate

We are searching for a LEAP Program Associate (Starting Summer 2025) at our Houston, TX or Wilmington, NC facility.

Our LEAP (Leadership, Experiences, Applications, Performance) Program is dedicated to developing the skills and competencies of its associates. You will learn our brands and products, how we measure our financial success, Lean thinking methodologies that deliver superior quality, and the core processes that drive our business. This program provides associates with rotational opportunities that may include exposure to Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Customer Service, Technical Sales and Quality. Rotations are decided based on business needs, associate's technical background, and associate's interests. 

This program follows the 70/20/10 leadership development model. Approximately 70% of your time will be dedicated to experiential learning opportunities such as day-to-day experience working in the field, special project ownership, and formal presentation opportunities. 20% of your time will be dedicated to learning from associates and leaders in your field of interest. You will participate in leadership development coaching, mentorships, plant visits, and assessments that will help you identify your personal strengths and areas of opportunity. The last 10% of your time will be spent learning about the company and industry through product training, Lean/Quality training, finance overviews, and various other classroom and on-the-job training opportunities. This breadth of experience and skill development will provide you with a solid foundation to propel your career for years to come.  

Upon completion of the program, our Senior Leadership team will take thoughtful action to best align you with a post-program opportunity based on your most natural strengths, performance, interests, and business need. As you progress in your career, increasingly more opportunities will become available to you.

LEAP Program Associate - Full-time starting Summer 2025

Senneca offers Tuition Reimbursement up to $5,250 based on academic results and/or certificate completion. Moreover, LEAP associates will be eligible to receive up to $1,200 ($100/month) in student loan repayment assistance after 1 year of service and successful completion of the program.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Gain a strong understanding of the market through classroom training, process shadows, on-the-job experience, and production site visits

• Develop and strengthen competencies required for your role and as an employee at Senneca.

• Take ownership to identify trends and recommend solutions to manage business challenges.

• Lead and/or participate in projects: define objectives, develop project plans, create agendas, facilitate meetings, manage timelines and deliverables, communicate updates, create contingency plans

• Complete financial and/or data analysis as required (based on project or rotation

• Accountable for delivering superior customer service (internally or externally as required

• Interact with various levels of corporate leadership, customers, vendors/suppliers, and employees to solve problems. Implement actions that protect company assets and profitability.

• Enhance ability to effectively communicate, influence, and interact with all types of customers, contractors, and co-workers.

• Develop conflict resolution and relationship management skills.

• Remain current with industry and macroeconomic trends by reading publications

• Must be a self-starter and highly motivated.

Required Experience: 

• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to adapt to fast-changing environment and effectively manage multiple responsibilities

• Good verbal and written communication skills – the ability to interface effectively with customers and employees

• Ability and desire to work in a hands-on, industrial environment

 

Desired Qualifications: 

• Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to navigate ambiguity and drive meaningful results

• Strong academic record

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Previous internship and/or co-op experience preferred

• Demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking, leadership, business acumen, project management, relationship building, and teamwork experience through extracurricular activities, work experience, or academics

• Willingness to relocate as business need requires

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or related degree as of hire date.

 

Travel Requirements:

Visits to different office and production locations may be required and include overnight stays.
