Overnight Summer Camp Horseback Riding Instructor

We are looking to hire a Horseback Riding Instructor for our 2025 summer season.  Horseback Riding is one of Chippewa’s flagship programs, and an activity that campers show great enthusiasm for. We run both an English and Western style program with 12 horses, and camper skill level ranges from beginner to advanced.

Responsibilities for this role include working with other Horseback Riding Instructors to create and maintain a fun, safe and productive Riding program that is appropriate for our campers’ ages and abilities; managing the physical operation of the horseback riding facilities and equipment; and caring for the horses. This role is ideal for a candidate with an interest in horseback riding, teaching and youth development. Experience working with children is recommended.

At Chippewa Ranch Camp, our foundational objective is to foster in campers the development of lasting friendships; an understanding of community and partnership; new interests and new skills; self-confidence; far-reaching goals; creativity, humor and colorful imaginations; a respect for diversity and culture and the spirit of kindness, generosity, empathy and love—all within the boundaries of a safe and healthy environment. It is our hope that, among other camp experiences, campers’ time at activities such as Horseback Riding, and under the guidance of staff such as yourself, will aid in the development of these characteristics and mindsets.

Essential skills for this role include communication, teamwork, initiative, patience, problem solving and safety-mindedness.

Compensation includes a competitive salary, room, board and a travel stipend.

Dates: June 1 - August 7, 2025
