Job Title: 2025 Marketing Ambassador and Intern
Job Type: This is a part-time, seasonal, and primarily virtual position based in NYC
Internship Dates: May 22, 2025- August 10, 2025 (12.5 weeks)
Hours: Approximately 15-20 hours per week. Hours are primarily worked in the evenings and on weekends.
Compensation: $16 per hour, free housing in NYC provided by Educational Housing Services during the Summer 2025 semester, and two Unlimited Ride MetroCards (or similar) to help cover transportation costs

General Description of the Marketing Ambassador-Intern Role:
EHS Marketing Ambassador-Interns represent and promote Educational Housing Services (“EHS”) in a positive manner on EHS’s social media networks as well as in their personal social media networks and in-person within the EHS community. The position will work directly with the marketing department on social media (with a particular focus on Tik Tok), content creation, and brand awareness initiatives, and engages EHS residents in different marketing campaigns. They will provide credible, trustworthy promotion and visibility to EHS (online and off-line).
This internship will be a hybrid internship experience, with both virtual and in-person experiences taking place in accordance with health and safety guidelines. Hours are primarily worked in the evenings and on weekends.
The intern must be a full-time student at a college or university and must live in the housing provided by EHS in NYC.
Please note: Only candidates who have experience creating TikTok content for a third party such as a company, organization, school association, etc., will be considered.
The ideal candidate has interest in the following areas:
- Managing and growing social media channels with a particular focus on Tik Tok, and keeping up with the everchanging social media landscape
- Capturing and editing photo and video content
- Marketing and advertising
- Interest or experience in/with resident hall living or student community building
- Working collaboratively in-person with other residents
Responsibilities include:
- TikTok and Other Social Content Creation
- As directed: Capture and edit photo and video content; ideate and produce creative, eye-catching, and relevant TikTok videos that showcase our student housing properties, amenities, and student life experiences
- As directed: Provide first-person perspective videos documenting your experiences with EHS to be posted on EHS social channels and, at times, your own social channels
- Help brainstorm and then execute ideas for entertaining and informative YouTube video content
- Analytics and Reporting
- Help track and analyze the performance of TikTok content, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
- Stay updated on trends and challenges to ensure our content remains engaging
- Content Scheduling
- Work with EHS marketing department to support content calendar creation and schedules for TikTok posts to maintain a consistent and active online presence
- Execute creation of social media content in accordance with content schedule
- Collaborations
- As directed, identify and collaborate with influencers, brand partners, and/or other residents to expand our reach and engagement on TikTok
- General Marketing
- As directed, provide the marketing team with fresh ideas for engagement on social media and identify new opportunities and trends for increasing brand awareness including partnerships and collaborations
- As directed, post content on EHS social media channels, and on your own personal social media channels promoting EHS
- Create digital assets including but not limited to photos, videos, and graphics that can be used for social media and other digital marketing initiatives
- As directed, secure video testimonials and related marketing content from EHS residents
- Work with the broader marketing team to understand the goals of the marketing department and ensure consistent branding and messaging across all social media platforms
- Attend designated events planned by the Student Life department throughout the semester, and encourage student attendees to participate in marketing initiatives (including, but not limited to, posting photos and videos using designated EHS hashtags, and executing any giveaways as instructed by the marketing department)
- As directed, support the marketing team with research and data organization
- Act as a positive representative/role model for EHS
- Perform other such duties as may be assigned to enhance the development of marketing and the best interests of EHS and its affiliates
Ideal Qualifications:
- A current full-time student at an accredited college or university
- Experience creating content for the main social channels of a third party (ex: school association, company, organization, etc) including Instagram X, Facebook, and YouTube with a particular focus on TikTok and its on-platform editing tools
- Familiarity with video editing tools, such as (but not limited to) CapCut and/or Adobe Premiere
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable talking and collaborating with other residents in-person and being on-camera
- Creative thinker; willingness to learn new marketing methodologies and software
- Accountable, organized, and communicative team member who can excel while working independently
