Job Overview
Associate Analysts within the organization are responsible for evaluating aircraft schedules within the United Airlines network and making timing, gauge, or fleeting adjustments to optimize those schedules with consideration for gate capabilities and other operational criteria. Several unique scheduling teams within United collaborate to optimize schedules for operability and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze aircraft flows, turn times, equipment type compatibility, gating constraints, crew availability, and other parameters
- Optimize United's schedule for profitability and operability while accounting for other stakeholder priorities, including safety, customer service, airport operations, aircraft maintenance, catering, inflight crew, aircraft performance, and others
- Perform ad-hoc analyses on schedule design, connectivity, and operational factors impacting aircraft schedules
- Coordinate across multiple commercial and operating groups to ensure viability of network plans
This position is a hybrid role including approximately 50% of days worked onsite at our Chicago office and 50% remotely.

Qualifications - External
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
· Bachelor's degree in an analytical discipline with a graduation date in December 2024 or Summer 2025
· Complex problem solving through independent critical thinking and quantitative analysis
· Intellectual curiosity, desire to learn, and ability to take initiative
· Proficiency in Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
· Must be authorized to work in the United States
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
· Master's degree in an analytical discipline
· Experience with Sabre AirVision / Schedule Manager
· Previous airline industry internship experience
· Experience with Palantir Foundry or SQL
· Knowledge of airline Network Planning principles
