The Aviate & Pilot Strategy team is offering an internship opportunity for an individual who has a passion for strategic innovation, process improvement, and project management with the willingness to consider the details and the ability to assess the big picture. This role will require critical thinking and strong internal and external client relationships. As an intern you will support a portfolio of work around developing, implementing, and improving the various programs, policies, and partnerships necessary to expand United’s pilot pool. You will support leading and analyzing program data to measure performance and support key objectives. You will coordinate with multiple United teams including Communications, Creative, Marketing, Branding, IT, Travel Services, Legal, Talent Acquisition and Recruitment, Global Learning, Labor Relations, Flight Ops Training, and Crew Resources to ensure program alignment. The intern will spend equal time supporting the four verticals within the Aviate and Pilot Strategy team:
- Partnership Sourcing and Engagement
- Marketing and Communications
- Program Design and Technology
- Pilot Strategy and Military program
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, propose, develop, vet, and implement programs to reach and attract top talent
- Support marketing, branding, social, public relations, communication, and promotional efforts of United’s pilot hiring initiatives
- Handle key collaborator communication and guidance for program execution and policy updates
- Run development of supporting technology
- Lead program status and performance through collection of relevant data and performance metrics
· Coordinate and assist with the execution of trainings, orientations, and events
· Track success metrics including surveys, participation, compliance, and engagement
- Support partner organizations in the administration of programs and production of relevant data
- Provide program updates to business units and senior leaders within and outside Flight Ops
- Be knowledgeable about the Aviate and Military programs to ensure alignment with Aviate and Pilot Strategy initiatives

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Track record of outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to apply quantitative skills and discernment to airline industry
- Position is based in Chicago, IL - must be able to relocate for internship duration
- Start dates in May or June 2025
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now and in the future
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
- Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
