The Network Operations Center (NOC) is the heart of United Airlines. The NOC Bridge Communication intern will assist in managing and streaming communication processes. The role involves supporting the coordination of day-to-day operational activities, aiding in the development and implementation of communication strategies, and ensuring timely dissemination of information to relevant stakeholders. The intern will work closely with the NOC Bridge Communication team to enhance internal communication efforts, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the airline operation.
Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Management:
- Content Development: Assist in creating engaging content that aligns with current communication trends, such as blog posts and multimedia content.
- Platform Utilization: Explore and utilize various digital platforms and tools to enhance content distribution and engagement.

Strategy Support:
- Campaign Ideation: Contribute to brainstorming sessions for new communication campaigns or strategies.
- Innovative Approaches: Propose innovative communication strategies and tools that could benefit the organization.

Collaboration and Networking:
- Internal Communication: Work closely with the communication team and other departments to align on messaging and objectives.
- External Outreach: Help identify and connect with influencers, bloggers, or industry experts who could enhance communication efforts.

Training and Development:
- Knowledge Sharing: Share knowledge with the team about new communication opportunities and best practices. Contribute to the development of communication plans and strategies aimed at improving operational efficiency.
By focusing on these areas, the communication intern can effectively contribute to the organization’s efforts in leveraging new communication opportunities and enhancing overall communication strategies.
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Business, Aviation Management, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Exceptional Writing: Proven ability to write clearly, persuasively, and creatively for various audiences and platforms.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent proofreading and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and communication tools (e.g., email, instant messaging platforms).
- Attributes: Proactive, organized, and adaptable with a keen interest in the aviation industry and operational communication.

- Internships or Projects: Prior internships or projects related to airline operations or communications in a high-pressure environment.
- Multitasking: Experience managing multiple tasks or priorities simultaneously.
