Title: Summer Bridge Student Support Assistant

Note that this position will be for about 40 hours over 10 days: from Sept. 9 through Sept. 18. Times may vary from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm.

We are hiring two Summer Bridge Student Support Assistants help ensure the success of incoming first-year students participating in the Summer Bridge program at EWU. The assistant will:

  • Answer Questions: Provide accurate and helpful information to students about college life, EWU campus resources, and academic expectations.
  • Lead Student Groups: Facilitate group activities and discussions, fostering a sense of community and belonging among new students.
  • Create Folders: Organize and distribute materials, including folders with essential information.
  • Problem Solving: Assist students in navigating challenges, offering solutions and guidance as needed to ensure a smooth transition to college.

This position requires strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to help new students feel welcome and supported. Qualifications: current EWU students who have led other students, worked on campus, or were students in a prior Summer Bridge are encouraged to apply.
