Business Analyst

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team in Topeka, KS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information systems or a related business field and proven experience in roles such as Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Project Manager, or IT Manager. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills to translate business needs into actionable system requirements and drive process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Analysis: Gather, analyze, and document high-level functional and detailed system requirements. Translate business needs into clear and actionable specifications.
  • Communication: Utilize excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, project team members, and stakeholders. Facilitate meetings and discussions to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.
  • Documentation: Develop comprehensive use cases, test plans, and test scripts to support system development and testing. Ensure accurate and thorough documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Process Management: Define, document, and manage processes to ensure effective implementation and adherence. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively within a team environment, maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues and clients. Support project teams in achieving project objectives and deliverables.
  • Customer Service: Demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer service by addressing client needs and resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  • IT Methodologies: Apply general knowledge of IT methodologies and procedures to guide project execution and ensure best practices are followed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Systems, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: At least three years of experience as a Business or Systems Analyst, Project Manager, or IT Manager. Demonstrated competency in relevant roles can substitute for formal education.
  • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Visio. Experience in developing use cases, test plans, and test scripts. General understanding of IT methodologies and procedures.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Process Improvement: Proven ability to define, document, and manage processes, with a track record of implementing process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMP) are a plus but not required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-specific IT systems and practices is advantageous.

Work Environment:

  • Location: This position is based in Topeka, KS. Candidates must be able to work on-site.
