The Policy and Procedures team at United Airlines works to innovate, transform, and support all work groups with a web base tool called Wingtips. The product is used cross-functionally by numerous workgroups across the enterprise (e.g. Airport Operations, Contact Centers, Network Planning, Inflight, Premium Services, Cargo etc.)
Interns are fully immersed in our culture and given meaningful project work to review and improve our current verbiage on wingtips while also supporting accessibility data collection. Inters leverage their skills to support value-added projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Knowledge of Add alt text to images (for accessibility) Image markup is standard (red box)
- Ability to work in Excel and word-based program, or similar. Writing and formatting pages and building links for content
- Creativity and innovative thinking in developing solutions to complex business problems.
- Ability to document and present technical information from the business problem definition to the implementation stage in a way that effectively addresses varying levels of management and different audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork
- Successful completion of the interview is required to meet job qualification.
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Some travel as needed 10%.
- Position is based in Chicago.

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Excellent, Communication, collaboration, organization, excel and writing skills.
- Work with policy owners to audit pages for accuracy (starting with most-used pages)
- Work with Regulatory to ensure regulatory content is correct.
- Partner with the Consistency teams to ensure any pages that are causing confusion are clarified for consistency (within their own group and across workgroups)
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- Basic Sitecore familiarity
- Excellent professional verbal and written Professional writing skillset
