Marketing Coordinator

Job Summary

This position will work closely with our District Managers, as well as other members of the Marketing team, to promote our presence in each of our markets. This position will report to the Marketing Manager. This exciting position will touch a variety of areas of marketing, both in the digital and offline space. This role will require travel, approximately 10-15% of the role.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Responsible for providing marketing guidance to the District and local management teams. Responsible for creation and analysis of marketing activities and campaigns. Special focus will be needed for stores that are struggling to meet their rental goals.
  • Research ad placement opportunities that make sense for the local stores. Working with management, evaluate the budget, level of ad placement and execution plan for purchase of the ad. Work with graphic designer and/or internal tools and resources to provide artwork that is within brand standards.
  • Work with and train General and District Managers and Marketing personnel to build and maintain community relations programs with local businesses and business organizations. Expand existing referral relationships and develop new opportunities for the company to secure new business.
  • Work with stores, District Managers and Home Office management to determine what marketing materials and programs are needed at the field level; work with Home Office marketing resources to fulfill orders and needs.
  • Assist in planning and execution of district marketing and brand initiatives; working closely with management team (this will include evaluating and ordering signs, banners, retail plan-o-gram, etc.). Conduct regular brand audits at the properties and discuss with management and execute on recommended changes.
  • Responsible for working with marketing team and store teams to solicit online reviews, create responses to reviews, and create reporting for this program.
  • Responsible for coordination of local listings program in conjunction with our partner, Reputation.com.
  • Coordinate social media posts; including content and graphic creation, monitoring of competitors and reporting on results. Development of campaigns to increase branded presence online.
  • Responsible for coordinating with Acquisition and Construction teams and outside vendors to make sure properties are prepared for closings and transitioning to be branded as Compass Self Storage. This includes travel to the new properties as needed.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:


· 1 plus years of relevant experience preferred.

· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing preferred

· Ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks/projects at once and maintain organization.

· Must have access to a vehicle and be able to travel (including overnight) to locations throughout the region.

· Travel to be approximately 10 – 15% annually.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
