Intern Summer 2025, Portfolio Valuation (Philadelphia)

Intern – Valuation Advisory

 

Interns in the Portfolio and Business Valuation Advisory group at Stout perform engagements under various contexts including portfolio valuation, purchase price accounting, and corporate tax matters.

 

Interns at Stout have the opportunity to gain client exposure and improve their technical skills while working under Stout professionals.

 

At Stout, you are engaged in real work right away.

 

As an Intern, a typical day might include the following:

  • Performing industry and company research;
  • Analyzing financial statements;
  • Preparing due diligence questions;
  • Attending meeting or calls with company representatives;
  • Developing valuation models for debt and equity instruments;
  • Preparing detailed financial models (Discounted Cash Flow, Guideline Public Company, and Merger and Acquisition); and
  • Preparing the end deliverable for the client (presentations, analysis packets, written report).

 

The Intern will be part of a firm where the culture and exceptional client service is inspired from leadership down.  Interns also interact with senior level professionals on a regular basis.

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a BA/BS
  • Must be classified as Junior or higher as of Fall 2024
  • Preferred, but not required coursework in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline
  • G.P.A. of 3.0 required, 3.5 or higher preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Financial statement analysis and financial modeling skills
  • General understanding of the valuation methodologies used in financial markets preferred
  • Knowledge of fixed income/credit valuation techniques such as Discounted Cash Flow Method preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and collaborative work environment that is deadline and budget-oriented
  • Relevant internship and/or extracurricular related experiences
  • Strong analytical, verbal, technical, and written skills
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Significant interest in a valuation advisory career post-graduation
  • Must be eligible to work in the US, without employer sponsorship, at the time of hire and in the future.

The range for this role considers several factors including but not limited to prior work and industry experience, education level, and unique skills. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

 

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $20.00 - $40.00 Hourly.
