Federal Student Intern: Paralegal/Pre-Law
The Diversity Intern Program, supported by the United States Army Minority College Relations Program, offers college students an exceptional opportunity to gain professional experience within the U.S. Army without enlisting. This summer internship program is specifically designed for students from diverse backgrounds, providing a unique chance to work closely with various Army commands. Interns will explore the business, administrative, and operational facets of the organization, gaining valuable skills and insights while contributing to meaningful projects.
Position: Paralegal/Pre-Law Federal Intern
Location: Various U.S. Army Commands (Nationwide) (Lodging and Transportation Provided)
Duration: Summer 2024 (8-10 weeks)
Compensation: Paid Internship ($540 Weekly)
Role and Responsibilities:
As a Paralegal/Pre-Law Intern, you will:
- Harmonize AMLC-RIA New Employee Orientation briefings currently provided to various AMC RIA commands
- Update and create content for internal and external AMLC-RIA websites and SharePoint sites
- Streamline and update AMLC-RIA out-processing procedures for all departing AMC employees
- Research, write, and develop presentations for Office of Counsel Lunch & Learn Program
- Update AMLC-RIA internal and external awareness and educational materials, both online and hard-copy
- Redact documents requested under the Freedom of Information Act
- Organize/Index/Prepare for storage/shredding, as necessary, of AMLCRIA’s hardcopy files
- Case preparation, research and document drafting assistance for attorneys as needed

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate shall be a student of at least
- Junior or Senior class standing in undergraduate school, or Graduate student who is currently enrolled or has graduated from a minority serving institution within the six months prior to the start of the period of performance.
- Each candidate shall possess at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Individual shall be enrolled in a Minority Serving Institution such as a:
- Historically Black College or University (HBCU),
- Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), or
- Tribal College (TC)
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a Background Investigation.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
