Accounting and Auditing Specialist

The Office of the City Treasurer is seeking an individual to perform professional and complex accounting and auditing functions relating to financial institutions doing business with the City of Springfield and City Water, Light & Power. 
Balance City/CWLP revenue, expenditure, and investment transactions. Prepare reports for internal and external distribution and assist Office Manager and Deputy Treasurer with daily tasked as needed. This position requires knowledge, skill and metal ability equivalent to the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree with courses in accounting, finance, business administration, and one year of professional accounting or auditing experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Preference for employment in all positions with the city shall be given to applicants who are full-time city residents
