The Office of Public Utilities is seeking individuals of all experience levels to fill several Engineer vacancies in the Electric Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and Electric Generation divisions. Openings in T&D include the areas of Electric Operations, Transmission Planning, Distribution Planning & Design, Substation Engineering, and System Protection (Relay) Engineering. Openings in Generation include Chemical Engineers. These positions require knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university. Ability to obtain an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Illinois or a Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Illinois is preferred. Preference for employment in all positions with the city shall be given to applicants who are full-time residents.
