Communications & Design Support

(Part-Time, 10 Hours/Week, Paid)

Job Role
 

COMMUNICATIONS DESIGN:
 

  • Develop and implement innovative communication strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
  • Create visually compelling design elements that align with strategic goals.
  • Translate complex concepts into accessible visual formats.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all design elements.
  • Stay updated with the latest design trends and technologies to continually enhance visual appeal.


 

PROJECT-SPECIFIC WORK:
 

  • Support client-specific projects, ensuring, together with the team, they meet the client’s needs and objectives.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and client communications effectively.
  • Deliver creative solutions that are both innovative and practical.

 

DATABASE ORGANIZATION SUPPORT:

 

DII’s own searchable Detroit database is in a constant state of change. Maintaining and updating contact information and outreach to community members is a critical part of the DII support structure of the work we do.

  • Organize and manage email outreach to community groups and stakeholders using platforms like Mailchimp.
  • Maintain and organize ongoing lists and databases to support our outbound communication.
  • Ensure that database and outreach strategies are streamlined and effective.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communication Design, or a related field.
  • Interest in Communications Design, community outreach, and database management.
  • Proactively communicate and engage with the community on behalf of DII.
  • Curiosity and/or experience with data.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design skills, particularly in strategic communications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Organized and capable of managing email outreach and database systems.
