Accountant 1 - Part time with benefits!

The Accountant 1 position supports grant processes through maintaining accurate financial records, including processing invoices, tracking expenses, and reconciling accounts.

  • Part-time with flexible working hours of 9am-3pm, Monday-Thursday.
  • There will be a required minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • This position would be eligible for health care benefits.
  • Salary: $ 25.00 - 27.00 Hourly

The role also includes preparing monthly financial reports to assist in budget and expenditure tracking.

The accountant may support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to queries from management or external auditors. The position does not supervise other staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and procedures of governmental accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge of state and federal policies and laws.
  • Ability to use and learn automated accounting and financial software.
  • Ability to plan, organize, gather information, and conduct research.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including using excel, word processing, database, email, internet, and other computer programs.

Telework Eligibility: Telework Eligible (Full-time telework is not available. Telework schedule must be supervisor approved.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Other combinations of education or experience may be substituted.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • State of Montana Statewide Accounting, Budgeting, and Human Resources Systems (SABHRS)
