Quartz is seeking two interns to join our Actuarial team from January – December 2025.  This paid internship will offer valuable experience and growth opportunities to prepare you for the next steps in your actuarial career.

Responsibilities:

You will participate and learn important skills in real-world situations that can be applied to your career beyond the classroom to include, but not be limited to:

  • Technical Abilities: Microsoft Excel, VBA, & SAS
  • Health Insurance Industry Knowledge: products, regulations, competitors, recent news
  • Professional Skills: communication, time management, workplace etiquette
  • Actuarial Knowledge: actuarial tasks, analyses, and pricing
  • Exposure to underwriting and other non-standard actuarial tasks

The successful candidate will be responsible for adhering to company policies, work hours, and rules governing professional staff behavior.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to the Actuarial career path
  • Ability to work one full calendar year (January 2025 – December 2025); 10-15 hours/week during the school year and 40 hours/week during the summer months
  • Graduating between December 2025 and June 2026
  • Preferred Majors: Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting or Related Major
  • At least one exam passed

Applicants have the option to work hybrid, with the ability to travel to one of our offices in Madison, WI or Onalaska, WI as needed. Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work remote.
