Healthcare Information Systems Analyst
The Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Medicaid Services (DMS) is recruiting for a Healthcare Information Systems Analyst in the Bureau of Systems Management (BSM).
As the Healthcare Information Systems Analyst, within the Systems Analysis and Support Section (SASS) you will play a critical role in implementing innovative Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) projects and enhancements to advance the MMIS system capabilities. The SASS team is responsible for the oversite of roughly 50 million claims per year and system processing functions for DMS. In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Representing specific division program and business areas with distinctive information systems (IS) applications, needs, and requirements.
- Leading, performing and coordinating advanced level work related to the planning, design, development, implementation, testing, support and oversite of Medicaid Enterprise System (MES) applications, systems and related claims processing data exchanges administered by DMS.
- Enhancing and maintaining distinctive information systems to meet program business needs and DMS goals.
- Functioning as the lead systems analyst in requirements gathering sessions, design documentation review, developing user acceptance test plans, performing user acceptance testing, actively monitoring system performance and providing technical expertise with resolving systems issues reported by users as they relate to Dental Claims, Durable Medical Equipment and Durable Medical Supplies, HealthCheck, Behavioral Health and other areas as needed.
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- Experience translating business requirements into healthcare information systems and system interfaces. This includes working with developers to implement system changes, performing system analysis, implementing test plans, and completing production verification.
- Experience developing, monitoring and analyzing reports and dashboards.
- Experience serving as a liaison between technical and non-technical staff.
- Experience independently monitoring system performance and identifying, reporting, documenting, and resolving system defects.
