Communications/Marketing Intern (January 2025)

The Communications/Marketing intern plays an important role in advancing the school mission through guided, clear communications to internal and external audiences.  With guidance from the MKT team this role will plan and execute communication initiatives to raise school awareness, support fundraising, recruit students, recruit and retain corporate partners, and support family engagement.

 

Essential skills/functions:

  • Assist with creating content for the website, social media, print and digital newsletters, email campaigns, and other marketing and school collateral.
  • Assist in the development and execution of social media content
  • Assist with posting website content as well as updating current content, photos and graphics.
  • Capture and edit photos and video footage at various school events.
  • Support media relations 

Job Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate course for communications, public relations, digital media, media studies, advertising, or a related field.
  • Willingness to work in a nonprofit/education setting with a high degree of ownership, accountability and confidentiality
  • Ability to multitask
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general knowledge of email and social media platforms.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Student Supervision/Interaction:

  • Adhere to the Decree on Child Protection requirements.
  • Complete monthly required Bulletin trainings per VIRTUS Child Protection standards.
  • All employees must consider themselves supervisors of students at all times.
