Intern, Global Markets Office of the Director General

The office of the Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service supports the operational, policy, and strategic work of Global Markets (GM). Working with a worldwide network of country, regional and industry experts, GM promotes U.S. exports, especially among small and medium-sized enterprises; advances and protects U.S. commercial interests overseas; and attracts inward investment into the U.S.

 

Interns at the Office of the Director General can expect to:

  • Manage and organize internal databases. This includes updating and revising existing documents and improving the filing system, as needed.
  • Assist with event planning logistics including room reservation, catering, check-in process, notetaking, etc. 
  • Draft, edit, or contribute to briefing papers, reports, or other materials for internal or external communication and engagements. 
  • Gather and organize inputs from across GM offices in support of Congressional delegations traveling overseas.
  • Other duties as assigned could include marketing, developing event flyers with Canva, compiling information for newsletters, etc.
