Program Instructor II - Kids in Motion

Job Summary

Plan and teach weekly parent/child, and children only movement classes for ages 1-4 at the North Kirkland Community Center. Maintain a safe and stimulating class environment with age-appropriate group activities and games. Guide and assist students through group games and individual movement activities with an emphasis on developing large muscle motor skills, hand-eye coordination, self-esteem, and sociaI skills.

Hours of Work

We are currently seeking one or two staff for the following school year shifts:
Tuesday 9:30am-12:30pm Starting September 10
Wednesday 9:30am-12:30pm Starting September 11
Additional hours may be offered for other daytime preschool programs as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • Good verbal, written, and telephone communication skills are required.
  • Ability to interact courteously with the public to acknowledge both compliments and complaints.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated good judgement in problem solving and responding to customer needs.
  • Proficiency in standard computer software, such as Microsoft Office Suite applications Word, Excel and Outlook

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. One year of experience working with preschool/youth.
  2. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  3. Must have or be able to obtain first aid/CPR certification by start date.
  4. Must successfully complete a thorough background check as required by the Child/Adult Abuse Information Act.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an indoor setting at the North Kirkland Community Center with high levels of noise. Must be able to walk, climb, bend, and stoop to complete tasks.
