Job Description:

TFG STAFFING is seeking two Board Certified General Oncology Physicians to join our team at the VA Western New York Healthcare System. The selected physicians will deliver comprehensive oncology services in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring care that meets or exceeds nationally recognized standards, such as those established by The Joint Commission and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert oncology consultations and treatments in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Evaluate, triage, and prioritize consults from primary care and other departments.
• Obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, and order and interpret laboratory tests.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, coordinating with Primary Care providers and other multidisciplinary team members.
• Perform administrative duties such as peer reviews and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations.
• Provide oncology on-call services as needed.

Place of Performance:

• Primary Site: Buffalo VAMC, 3495 Bailey Ave, Buffalo, NY 14215
• Additional Sites: Batavia VAMC, 222 Richmond Ave, Batavia, NY 14020; Olean CBOC, 465 North Union Street, Olean, NY 14760

Travel Requirements:

• Physicians will be required to travel to Batavia VAMC and Olean CBOC based on patient needs, with a minimum of one day per quarter and a maximum of one day per week at each location. An estimated maximum of 26 visits per year is expected.

Qualifications:

• License: Must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
• Board Certification: Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine Medical Oncology Board and hold current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Hours of Operation:

• Regular clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding holidays.
• On-call availability is required during off-hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Standards of Care:

Physicians are expected to adhere to the highest standards of care, meeting or exceeding recognized national benchmarks, including those set by The Joint Commission and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
