Project Management Intern

Summary:

The Project Management Team is responsible for the successful completion of construction projects, from the initial hand-off from Estimating through final completion and close-out. PMs are responsible for overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards and applicable laws and regulations. As a Project Management Intern, you will assist in all of these activities by offering support and utilizing prior knowledge. The descriptions below are representative of, but not limited to, the expectations of this role.

 

Five Key Roles of the Project Management Intern:

  • Organizing and planning for the safe and efficient execution of the assigned projects
  • Assist in maintaining the financial controls of the project for the profit/loss of the project
  • Assisting in developing and maintaining the project schedule
  • Collaborating with PM team to estimate, price and negotiate the price on projects
  • Working with Superintendents and Estimating teams for project collaboration

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with department initiatives
  • Continually expanding knowledge and use of industry best practices and innovation
  • Solving problems, as they arise, by using available knowledge and resources
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Currently working towards a degree in Construction Management or related field
  • Competency with computers and basic programs/software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and excellent organization skills
  • Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals

 

Travel:

Light travel may be required for this position. Travel may include, but is not limited to, travel from office to various job sites. Fessler and Bowman will compensate for travel when applicable.

 

Work Environment:

As a Project Management Intern, you will be subject to various work environments. Environments include but are not limited to the following: office and field settings, high/low temperatures, areas close to traffic, loud and frequent noises, confined spaces, heights, indoor/outdoor settings.

 

Recruitment Process:

The recruitment process will include a phone screen, in-person meeting, and a pre-employment background check and drug test.
