Position Title: Physical Therapy Classroom Attendant

Job Essentials/ Duties:

The DPT Classroom Attendant will be responsible for assisting with the following tasks:

  • Assisting faculty and students with maintaining equipment storage.
  • Canes, Crutches, Walkers
  • Wheelchairs: arm and footrests attached and put away
  • Mat tables
  • Return equipment to storage closet or back room
  • Assist with management of outlet tower placement and standing table organization
  • Assist faculty as able to help with room test prep and re-configuring after testing days
  • Assist the department manager in room preparation for event days: ie: Interview Day, Information Session, Capstone

The DPT Classroom Attendant will be responsible for completing the following tasks

  • Create and maintain an equipment database
  • Make sure inventory of consumable materials is kept at a par level, processing an order request via PT faculty.
  • Calibrate Hydraulic Mat table
  • Cleaning whiteboards
  • Clean and sanitize the PT tables / RG 2152 & RG 2052
  • Maintain organization of the PT Storage room / closet
  • Report any damaged equipment to Pam Ross for repair
  • Other duties as assigned or required by the PT Faculty or Department Manager.

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrollment as a student at IUI- Doctorate Student preferred
  • School of Health and Human Sciences major not required but preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Demonstrated skill in communicating individually and in small group formats
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to positively represent IUI and the Physical Therapy Department in the School of Health and Human Sciences
