OVERVIEW OF GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The employee in this position is expected to provide superior customer service to clients and the public. Uses training and experience to resolve problems that affect successful transitions for customers, reinforcing the agency's reputation as a leader in excellence. QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or university) in Social Work, Human Services, Sociology, Counseling, or a related field.
Experience: Two years related (four years preferred) professional experience working with economically disadvantaged individuals and families. CSBG and self-sufficiency-related case management experience preferred. An equivalent combination of education, experience, or training may be considered.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prepares needs assessments by obtaining background information such as employment, education, social and family factors, or history that contributes to the client's situation, as well as by studying case histories of clients and residents.
- Develops and implements case management plans to help clients mobilize inner capacities and resources to improve social functioning. Facilitates decision-making by providing consultations, recommendations or referrals, and appropriate advice.
- Conduct individual, family, or group sessions by the established case management plan and provide crisis intervention if necessary. Establishes rapport with community resources for financial support, i.e., delinquent rent, mortgage, food, and energy assistance.
- Facilitates using research data to improve existing programs and utilization of resources.
- Follows up on the progress of the case management service plan to determine the quantity and quality of service provided and the status of the client's case. Maintains adequate and up-to-date records on activities performed, clients served, pending applications, etc. Obtains supplemental documents as needed.
- Compiles records and prepares progress reports. Enters accurate and timely data into the AR4CA software program.
Other Requirements:
- Employees must know principles, practices, and content in social work. Must develop and implement a service plan to maximize the client's physical, social, and emotional well-being; and coordinate and monitor service delivery.

- Must have a valid driver's license and own transportation. Must have proof of and maintain vehicle liability insurance and annual state vehicle inspections.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Background checks with state and Federal law enforcement agencies are required. Selected applicants must submit to a pre-employment substance abuse screening test and receive a negative result for the use of drugs and alcohol as specified in agency policies. Must submit and receive negative results for random testing of the same.
