Work Arrangement:
Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Manufacturing Engineering headquarters in Warren, MI or an assigned plant location on a full-time basis.
What You’ll Do:
Our plants are the groundwork for GM and a hotbed of innovation. We champion a spirit of innovation and creativity. Here you will be able to come to the table with fresh and new insights to help develop and implement into the plant. You will work on a variety of projects. This could include working on projects that support the development of manufacturing processes & technologies, equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence, and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines, and facilities vital to produce parts / vehicles.
Projects could potentially involve one or more of the following in support of new product program launches:
Development of Sequence of operations
Evaluation of Ergonomic / Human factors
Development / validation of man-machine interface
Development of efficient material flow process
Collaborate with suppliers to develop/select materials for the paint shop
Short term travel to suppliers / assembly plants to support / validate tools and systems
Continuous process improvements
Collaborate with other centers to reduce energy and waste globally
Job locations can be at Manufacturing Engineering headquarters in Warren, MI or in various plant locations throughout the U.S.

Required Qualifications:
Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Additive Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Polymers, Welding, Operations, Material & Packaging Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Welding Engineering, Welding Technology, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management
Must be graduating between August 2025 and May 2028
Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months
Willing to work any shift, potentially including weekends
Willing to work in a plant environment

Start dates for this internship role are May & June of 2025.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $3,500 - $4,900 monthly, dependent upon class status and degree.
GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to eligible students selected for the 2025 Student Program.
