Security Officer

This position is responsible for the protection of assets, personnel, customers, and all visitors of The Potter’s House and T. D. Jakes Ministries.

Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Perform safety patrols and enforce TPH’s badge procedures to staff, contractors and visitors;
  • Protect property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire and accidents;
  • Effectively investigate and write reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security related situations utilizing the safety reporting system;
  • Provide safety assistance to customers, employees and visitors;
  • Maintain order and crowd control if needed;
  • Complete interior and exterior building checks, ensure lights are on and off as required and doors are secured;
  • Ability to deal with unpredictable crisis situations;
  • Report any malfunctioning doors, lights, etc. to facilities team via online web help desk;
  • Remain informed about upcoming events via the weekly event schedule;
  • Create and distribute staff and contractor badges as needed;
  • Ability to operate radios and display radio etiquette when in use across teams;
  • Effectively communicate COVID protocols if needed;
  • Serve as a training officer to new safety staff, and perform other related duties as assigned by the security management team;
  • Provide safety coverage at TPH campuses or facilities as necessary.         

  Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, plus one year of safety/law enforcement experience.
  • At least one year of safety/law enforcement experience.
  • Must have a valid driver license and be able to travel between Dallas and Ft. Worth

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Reliable and trustworthy team member, with a strong understanding of confidential awareness as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of security operations and safety practices in a business environment regulated by enforcement procedures.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance.
  • Good knowledge base of Dallas and Ft. Worth community resources.
