Assembly Maintenance Engineering Intern

Position Overview
The Assembly Maintenance Engineering Intern will support the engineering team by analyzing new model equipment, identifying critical spare parts, and contributing to the redesign of equipment components to enhance reliability and prevent mechanical or electrical failures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Analysis and Improvement: Conduct thorough analysis of new model equipment to identify potential issues and areas for improvement. Identify critical spare parts necessary for maintaining operational efficiency. Propose redesigns for equipment components to mitigate mechanical and electrical failures, ensuring long-term reliability.
  • Continuous Improvement Projects: Update electrical drawings continuously as improvements are made using AutoCAD, ensuring accurate documentation of changes. Assist in the retrofit of electrical panels and internal lighting by specifying requirements, obtaining quotes, aiding in the purchasing process, and participating in installation. Collaborate on projects aimed at enhancing robots to improve overall system efficiency.
  • Research and Development: Investigate improvements for vision system and lighting to enhance operational effectiveness. Study stations with a focus on suggesting enhancements that improve cycle time, reliability, and recovery rates. Engage in brainstorming sessions with senior engineers to develop innovative solutions that address current challenges within assembly operations.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field with a minimum 3.0 institutional GPA. 
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Strong hands-on abilities related to fabrication and robotics are essential.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week. 
  • Must have reliable transportation
