Student Communications Assistant - Work Study

Job Summary

Through the usage of social media platforms, the school seeks to tell the stories of our campus community, research, and impact through creative, engaging, and innovative content. IU School of Social Work is seeking student employees for the fall of 2024 and Spring 2025, who are passionate about depicting what it means to be a student through photography, videography, and trending content.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Assists in the creation of social media content tailored to key audiences and stakeholders.
  • Implements social media production and posting schedule.
  • Monitors social media analytics and performance.
  • Captures photography, video, and audio for website and social media content.
  • Designs graphics and layouts for a variety of print and digital platforms.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University, School of Social Work

SKILLS

Required

  • Experience creating designs for print or digital media using Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent design software
  • Understanding of effective design principles and best practices
  • Commitment to producing quality work and to continuous improvement
  • High degree of flexibility and problem-solving initiative
  • Strong sense of curiosity and creativity

Preferred

  • Experience creating compelling social media content to promote a business, brand, or organization
  • Experience capturing and editing audiovisual content
