Graphic Design Asst Intern - Work Study


Position Description: 
The student employee will focus on creating visual elements for the School’s website, curriculum, events, and print material. IU School of Social Work is seeking student employees for the fall of 2024 and Spring 2025. The internship provides support for graphic design projects which advance initiatives and uphold the image, reputation, and reach of the school via digital and print content across multiple platforms. Work may include additional duties in support of other functions or administrative needs.

Responsibilities
• Designs the layout and format for digital graphic design content, including selection of colors, images, fonts, logos, and placement, for various website and digital needs.
• Creates images, graphic elements, illustrations, and other visual content using a variety of graphic software, including Adobe Creative Suite.
• Creates themed templates and images for general school use that align with IU brand guidelines.
• In consultation with marketing, project managers, web developers, and/or other key stakeholders, defines printing specifications, refines graphic design project elements, and works to build designs elements for print material.

Requirements
• Students currently pursuing undergraduate or master’s degrees in graphic design, Informatics, Media, computer graphic tech, or related areas are encouraged to apply.
• Fundamental digital graphic skills and basic understanding of any of the following would be helpful: SVG, Adobe creative suite or relevant software
• Familiarity with any of the following would be a plus: HTML, website design.
