Required Qualifications
- Must have a Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- Basic understanding of electrical components and soldering
- Able to learn and follow operational procedures
- Able to write and produce technical documents and manuals
- High attention to detail
- Willing to learn new things every day
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with 3D printing
- Experience modeling with CAD software
- Experience in coding
- Experience with GIS software
The Forage and Range Research Lab, located on USU campus, focuses on the study of various grasses and rangeland vegetation. The applicant will assist scientists by gathering data with sUAS-based sensors as well as assisting technicians with documentation and research and development. This is a part-time position that is flexible with school schedules. An applicant may work 10-20 hours per week during school, and will be expected to stay on full time (40 hours/week) for the 2025 summer season.
Candidates with a Bachelors degree are eligible for increased pay.
This is an LA (Limited Appointment) position, with an absolute yearly cap of 1080 hours or 180 working days. It is designed to be worked part-time for 8 months, then full time for 3-4 months. Opportunities for renewal for another year are subject to job performance and budget.
